What it does
Open PRs, search code, read issues, and ship from chat. The GitHubintegration runs in your assistant's permission sandbox; you control what it can read, write, and act on.
Setup
Say “Set up GitHub.” Your assistant walks you through the authentication flow and confirms what it can access before any action runs.
Common prompts
- “What's new in GitHub?”
- “Summarize my recent activity in GitHub.”
- “Show me what needs my attention today.”
Tips & gotchas
- Scoped permissions.Your assistant only requests the scopes it needs for the actions you've approved.
- Per-channel control. If you use multiple channels, you can restrict GitHub access on a per-channel basis.
- Revoke anytime. Disconnect from your assistant settings or from GitHub directly; tokens are cleared on both sides.
