We run this in production today, wired by hand — and it works well enough that native support would be a big unlock. My assistant runs my cattle ranch's ops hub; it operates as a full member of our private Discord server via a bot token stored in its credential vault: posts a daily operational SITREP (text + generated audio) to a mission-command channel, pins/unpins, seeds reaction prompts, reads report-backs from my son (his ID mapped to a known contact), and answers him in-channel. Discord has been our most reliable two-way field-comms rail. What hand-wiring costs us that a native channel would fix: (1) no event push — the assistant only sees messages when it polls or wakes, so replies aren't real-time; (2) per-user identity mapping is manual; (3) every capability (pin, react, thread) is hand-rolled against the Discord API. A native Discord channel with inbound events + contact mapping — like the existing Slack/Telegram channels — would make this turnkey. Happy to share details of our setup as a reference use case.
